I am a Fatherless Daughter Woman

Are You a Fatherless Daughter? There’s Danger in Not Knowing.

It took months for me to say that out loud there was so much resistance because I was so worried about what others would think and protecting others…. but when you acknowledge your truth that’s when the healing of your fatherless wounds can begin.

This will probably be the longest blog post I write.

Clearly, it’s a touchy subject.

I didn’t realize I was a fatherless daughter, honestly I was in denial because I was raised by mother and stepfather, yet I was walking around living out patterns of a fatherless daughter and sadly there are many other women walking around and not realizing how the absence of their biological father is impacting the different aspects of their life. It was affecting my relationships and business.

Most of the girls I knew growing up in my neighborhood were raised in single mom households, so you see it was my normal and I thought I was okay because I had my mom and stepfather and I went to college and was successful in my career and achieved many other accomplishments within my business.

I was strong, ambitious and driven by success. I had no idea that success was one of the patterns that were showing up in my life. I believed the desire to be a success and have goals and dreams was great, but I realized earlier in 2017 that it was a problem, because I was using it as a mechanism for coping.

I continuously invested in one program after program believing I needed to learn more, better myself in order to help others and it became one business venture after another and one course, and one coach after another, and certifications on top of certifications and constantly changing my offerings and services to offer my clients more…subconsciously beneath the actions and decisions, I was making was the belief that Keisha, the little girl inside me who believed she was not enough or worthy of success and that she had to prove herself. I now realize I was suffering from a lack of identity.

We get our identity around the age 10 from our father….but when you grow up with an absent, unattached or emotionally unavailable father there is confusion about your purpose and identity.

It wasn’t until I attended an event in hopes to have a breakthrough in my business and this event was about fatherlessness and the impact in your life. I started to connect some of my limiting beliefs and past life events to my fatherlessness. I was struggling in life and business because of the non-existence of a relationship with my biological father, which led to having a lack of identity.

My lack of identity stemmed from two life-changing events, being a fatherless daughter and teen mother…. ( I will share more in another posts, the goal was to keep this short) information)

When a child experiences a lack of identity, she begins to find her identity through other things. For me it was success; but what was showing up was that I was tying to fill a void and what I needed to do was heal my fatherless wounds.

The fatherless wound is deep-rooted and when you get to point in your life where you begin to shut everything down around you and get still it begins to surface and that’s necessary so that you can release them.

This is a conversation that not many are talking about, but it’s why so many women are struggling in life and business and wondering why they are filling unfulfilled. This is why.
I took another certification, but this certification helped me to discover my truth. Through my fatherless daughter advocate training, I made a decision and decided it was time to confront and make peace with my past and in doing so I was able to unlock my success and embrace a journey of Unleashing My Best Life and I want the same for you!
